David has practised as a Solicitor for more than 20 years. He has extensive experience of advising clients on data protection law as a Solicitor in private practice as well as when employed by local authorities and in the higher education sector.
He has practised regulatory law for nearly 20 years. In that time, he has prosecuted for regulators such as local authorities and fire authorities and defended clients against them. From his experience he is familiar with the way regulators think and how they approach enforcement.
David is a specialist in the field of data protection. He holds various qualifications: Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection; Certificate in Information Security Management Principles and Certified Information Privacy Professional (Europe)
He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the Society for Computers and Law.
He has extensive experience having advised on data protection for local authorities, a Russell Group University and as a Consultant to and Data Protection Officer for private sector businesses and charities.
He has provided training to in-house employees and the public on data protection.
David is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and can provide unreserved (sorry no litigation) legal advice through DPA/OK. Professional Indemnity Insurance is in place.
